Steps to take to build your own website
After many years of building websites, I have learned a lot about what to do and what not to do. I put a check list of the steps to take to build your own awesome looking website.
List
Register your domain name. I recommend that you do not register your domain name with your hosting site.
Sign up for hosting.
Point domain name to your host server. You do this in the account where you purchased your domain name.
Download and install wordpress on your hosting site. Some hosting sites have 1 click install for wordpress.
Enable SSL in your cpanel. Some hosting sites offer free SSL.
Find a Theme that you like. The themes that I know of, that work great with the Elementor page builder are Ocean WP and Generate Press.
Download install and activate the following plugins. WP Cache – by: Automatic, iTheme Security- by: iThemes, Really Simple SSL- by: Rogier Lankhorst, Elementor- by: Elementor.com
